directions (e.g.: Mapquest, Yahoo!, etc.) which instruct you to take
New Bridge Road. This road is closed and you will end up having
to backtrack several miles if you go this way.
From DELAWARE
MEMORIAL BRIDGE
- Get in the far right lane
before you finish crossing the bridge into New Jersey.
- Get off at the first exit,
going south on Route 49 toward
Pennsville.
- Go to the following set of directions for Pennsville.
From PENNSVILLE
- Follow Route 49 south
through Pennsville (through six [6] traffic
lights if starting from the Del. Mem. Bridge exit). At the last traffic
light in Pennsville, there will be a gas station on the left and a
Wal-Mart shopping center on the right (South Hook Road is on the left).
- About three (3)
miles
after the Wal-Mart light, you will cross over the Penn-Salem Bridge,
which leads into Salem City. You are now on Front St. Go left at the next light, which keeps
you on Route 49 south (now West Broadway).
- After the Front St. light, you will encounter three (3)
traffic
lights. At the third light, Keasbey St. is to your left and Yorke St.
is to your right. You are on East Broadway.
- Go to the following set of directions for Salem.
From SALEM
- Go straight through all traffic lights on Broadway
in Salem, heading east on Broadway (south on 49).
- Continue south on Rte. 49 to Quinton, then follow the
Quinton directions.
From QUINTON
- If coming from Salem on Rte. 49, cross over the Quinton bridge.
At the traffic light, Quinton-Alloway Rd. will be to your left. Go straight
through the light.
- Take the second right onto Sickler Street. If you pass the
Quinton firehouse (Station 13) or the Quinton Methodist Church, you've
missed the turn.
- After a sharp leftward bend, Sickler St. becomes Cross Road.
Follow Cross Rd. several miles to the first stop sign. At the stop
sign, you have to jog slightly right to continue across the
intersection on Cross Rd.
- Where Cross Road dead-ends on Maskells Mill Road, go right.
- Take the next left onto Smick Road (Canton Baptist Church
sign on
far left corner). Canton Baptist Church is approx. 3/4 mile on the
left. The parsonage is on your left immediately before the church.
From NJ
TURNPIKE Southbound
- Follow the Turnpike all the way to the end, going through Toll #1.
- Get off at the first exit
immediately after Toll #1.
- At the end of the exit ramp, go left onto Route 140. You will be making a left
onto the up-ramp of an overpass.
- Follow the directions from Route 295 southbound, below,
beginning with #3.
From ROUTE
295 Southbound
- Get off at Exit 2B
(at the Hospital sign).
- Follow the exit ramp around, going right onto Rte. 140. You
will exit onto the up-ramp of an overpass.
- Continue straight
through two (2) traffic lights. You are now on Rte. 540 / Hawks Bridge Road.
- After several miles, the road will bear sharply right in front of the
Memorial Hospital of Salem County, onto Rte. 45.
- After a little more than a mile, you will cross a bridge
going into the city of Salem. Go straight
through the first traffic light.
- At the second traffic light, go left onto Rte. 49 / East Broadway.
- Now, follow the directions from Salem, above.
From
BRIDGETON Area
- Take Route 49 north
toward Salem. Shortly after crossing a small bridge into Salem County (should be a sign), you
will pass the Marlboro Seventh Day Baptist Church on your left,
followed immediately by the Marlboro Farm Market.
- Take the third left
after the farm
market onto Harmersville-Pecks Corner
Road.
- After about three (3) miles, go left onto Cross Road (this will be the second
cross street on Harmersville-Pecks Corner Road).
- Where Cross Road dead-ends onto Maskells Mill Road (1 mile), go right.
- Take the next left
onto Smick Road (Canton
Baptist Church sign on far left corner). Canton Baptist Church is
approx. 3/4 mile on the
left. The parsonage is on your left immediately before the church.
