"We believe in one GOD existing in three equal persons: God the Holy Spirit, God the Son, and God the Father. Each of these persons are distinct from one another only in revelation of their work. We believe that Jesus Christ is the 'only begotten Son of God' and that He was born of a virgin; that the life He lived was an “example” for Christians of all generations to follow; that the death and resurrection He experienced was for an atonement for sin and justification for all who would place their whole soul trust in Him alone."

"We believe in the baptism of believers only, and that the mode be by immersion like that of Christ’s. Baptism identifies the believer with Christ in His death and resurrection. Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, was also commanded by the Lord and to be observed ‘as oft as ye will’. At Canton Baptist Church we have selected the first Sunday of each month as the time for this ordinance. Through observing this memorial it reminds us of the Lord’s atoning death until He comes again."

Behind the church is a creek that goes by the name of Canton Drain. Before there was an indoor baptismal pool, people were baptized in Canton Drain, even in cold weather. There was at least one time that they actually had to chop through the ice in early March for a baptism! Obviously, people were a lot tougher then!
